Topic: James MacGaw benefit record Posted: August 10 2016 at 18:59 |
James MacGaw, the great guitarist of Magma and One Shot, has been struggling with illness for some time. And due to the illness, he is struggling financially. This is a release that he worked on and finished in 2010, but hadn't done a final mix of, but when he got ill, his friends all pitched in and finished for him and that his friends all pitched in to release, with all proceeds going to James.

Thank you - I'm going to grab that! Sorry to hear that he is still having difficulties, both physical and financial.

I do wish him the best...he is a beast of a guitarist.
I just wished I liked the record more.

What kind of music is it? I plan on getting it whether it's jazz or prog - I think I'd even get it if it was cheesy '80s RnB, just to support the guy in the tiniest way!

It's kind of an indie rock album with zeuhlish feel, it's good enough but nothing that rocks my world.

Nogbad's description is pretty spot on. Legal torture is the only track that is particularly interesting.
