This legitimately makes no sense. People who run ad block are never going to actually click ads, so making them disable it is pointless. Now I have to see Fuhrer Trump's presidential ad stare at me every other time I load a page.

I found a workaround, if you use uBlock Origin, I can teach you how to do the same.

Implying the webmasters actually ever visit the site/forum to read legitimate complaints. [stern smile]
Yeah, after about ten years of being on this site, this is probably the last straw for me. Not really worth contributing if I have to turn me AdBLock off and on to publish reviews that few people will ever see. When there's tangibly better competition like RateYourMusic out there, PA shooting themselves in the foot like this is another shining reason why the site feels like a has-been.

PA has some of the least obtrusive ads on the internet. A little 100 by 500 or so banner at the top of some pages that (regardless of whether you click on them or not), will be giving a tiny bit of money to the site owners to help keep it running. Really doesn't seem like that big of a deal just to turn off adblock for this site.

It's a matter of principle. I will turn of adblockers when I choose to, not when a site makes me.

I was about to create a topic about this since I also noticed this warning to disable the Adblocker. I don't know.. isn't forcing people to turn the Adblocker off a bit fascistic? I never click on Ads on this site or any other site and I would like to be able to access Progarchives with my Adblocker on.

Yea. Sooner or later all websites will force you to turn your Adblocker off. So the fight against the ads will be lost.

pfff... you had your chance M@X. I use Ad-Block and am not clicking on any of those damn ads. We offered to give you donations to keep the site going...it was our work that made this site what it was. We don't want to see it disappear. Did you accept our offer of money for influence? Nope. Probably because you knew my army of thugs and tough guys would have given you money.. but would have demanded that the Godfather truly ascend to power... and being an admin in return for our financial investments and oh how would have the blood and retributions have followed to all that stood in the AR hit squads path. that said.. ever want to sell the site. Let me and Raff know.. we'll buy you out and make it profitable as we take offers from teh Genesis fans what they would pay not to see Genesis moved to Prog Related... Neo Fans? hah.. we'd extort them not to see their favorites blown into the nothingnous as we deleted them from the datebase if their fans didn't pony up.. Let the Godfather run this site... we wouldn't need no stupid f**king Ads to make some jack...

I'd be down to support this business model. I'd pay a pretty penny to see Tull and Rush confined to prog related where they belong and to have the Allmans in their rightful spot on the top 100 albums list!
