Camel vs. Pink Floyd

If it were multiple choice I'd vote for...

I know how about comparing Gods Of Light To Pompeii. Camel, playing quite a heavy version of Snow Goose and being fierce to the live PF without an audience of distractions. Well it's obvious...

Actually at this stage I'd have to give the nod to Latimer guitar wise as DG's sounds are not quite up to where he's get in later years, his playing is, but the sounds... not just yet, then.. As an experimental muso at this stage he does just fine. But he's always a better singer than Mr Latimer. Now he and Rog could go toe to toe at being the worst when it comes to conventional singing...

Anyway, I'm not going to do without either.

	PINK FLOYD Camel are great in their own right, and Andy Latimer is a top guitarist, but it will always be the Floyd for me.

	IMHO Pink Floyd have made 50% of their albums which are quite stunning, the rest is a little weird and you need drugs to appreciate the music, to me some of the music is utter strange and meaningless. Not exactly music to my ears!!!

	Pete Bardens was one of the best guests on SPACE PIRATE RADIO, very humble, somewhat sad. I've met the 4 Floyd members many times from 1974 to 2002, the show's run. I found Nick Mason, Rick Wright and Roger Waters the most open and friendly. David Gilmour was separate from the others in 1975, but became nicer to me and my show during solo projects. He gifted me with some special personalized items during the various anniversary celebrations. Without the Floyd, there would be no SPACE PIRATE RADIO. They changed my life, professionally and personally. This site wouldn't exist without them. cheers!

	Camel is one of my favorite bands and some albums as for instance: Mirage, Snow Goose, Moonmadness,Raindances and Nude deserves detachable place in my collection !

	Both have a similar number of 4 and 3 star records...but for me the Pink Floyd albums have more weight and impact when I listen to them.....but I actually think many of the Camel albums flow better when listening to them. And even though I think Floyd is overrated at times and some of their albums can be a bit boring...I have to vote for Floyd.
	One does nothing yet nothing is left undone. Haquin
