Camel have their moments, usually when Latimer isn't singing, but Floyd are epic all round, so Floyd wins my vote without any hesitation.

I need to explore Camel a lot more/inundate myself with them a bit. So far my reaction to them has been that they're "just okay," which is why I hadn't really dived into them.
Pink Floyd, on the other hand, is a top 30ish artist for me. So clearly I chose Floyd.

It's very tight for me, since both bands are quite blues oriented, and Latimer and Gilmor have quite similar style of guitar playing. My vote would go to Camel though, mainly because I'm quite fond of many of their albums, and frankly, Pink Floyd's music, even though is at the top of many people's list (top 6 for me), is not as deep as and profound as Camel's. I know it's only my opinion, but it's something I feel very strongly about.

Camel for me. Pink Floyd have only had two really great albums as far as I'm concerned (AHM & Animals), whereas Camel has around 4 that I really dig.

Great! This is congenial!

So nice to see that this forum brought together all 20-something people from across the world that make up the Camel fan club. God bless the internet.
Pink Floyd, and it isn't even a consideration.

Yesterday in a shopping center I was listening to Camel when a PF cover band started playing Another Brick In The Wall to advertise their incoming concert. After them I returned to Camel.
I couldn't do without any of the two.

If you'd been in Harrogate's Royal Hall on Oct 19 2013, and seen a sell out crowd of 1000 welcome the band back after 10 years of inactivity with a long standing ovation before they'd played a note, you wouldn't make such a bloody stupid statement. Many grown men were in tears (me included). That whole tour was sold out.
Of course Camel were always going to lose this poll to to PF, who are prog's biggest band in terms of fan base, renown and influence. And they largely deserve their status for some great music. But don't underestimate Camel's following.

I would 'echo' that wholeheartedly - I saw them last year and they were brilliant! Much better than many sub-standard reunions and cynical pension-enhancing touring/recording by other bands who should have called it a day a long time ago! To their credit, Floyd have not done that either.

I am relatively new to Camel in that I pick them up and generally like something that I didn't appreciate before. I have been wearing out 'A Nod and A Wink' lately, but there is still a big part of their catalog that I do not really get. They do have some great tracks but I don't have any of their albums that I really listen to end to end. Admittedly have about half of their albums and 'Echoes'. I'll have to go back and spin some of them again. Wasn't a fan of ANAAW until recently, but it is really hitting the spot.
But Camel is going up against Floyd who are my all time favorites so for this poll its PF

Love them both
Both have recorded great albums:
Moon Madness, Mirage, Rain Dances against DSOTM, Animals and WYWH
both have recorded a few clunkers:
ICSYHFH or Atom Heart Mother…
Voted for Floyd...
