Both are excellent albums, when both bands were at the best period of their creativity, but I'll vote for "Larks Tongues in Aspic" for very personal reasons.

Larks Tounge in Aspic because of sheer listening enjoyment - but I consider Relayer the most sonically challenging album of the two. Both are rock as a genuine artistic expression that makes me envious of those who were there to discover it when prog was part of "popular" culture.

"Gates of Delirium," "Sound Chaser" and "To Be Over" well over "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Pt. 1," "Book of Saturday," "Exiles," "Easy Money," "The Talking Drum" and "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Pt. 2."

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Larks I guess.
Not my fave albums by either artist, but there are parts of Relayer which irritate me.

Relayer, I never really remember anything from LITA apart from Part 1.

I love both, but consider LTIA to be the more revolutionary of the two, so make mine Lark's Tongues.
p.s. please keep John Wetton in your thoughts & prayers, he's been having a rough time lately (cancer chemo, blood infections etc.)

Both fantastic albums, and certainly some of the most extreme offerings from each group, but Larks' wins this one for its consistency. With Relayer, Yes always struck me as having put all their eggs in one basket (Gates of Delirium) while side two leaves you wanting a bit more.
