The first that came to mind. It would be awesome if they got a chance to compose an actual score - for some weird horror/giallo/mystery-flick

I am not sure Erika Stucky can be called prog (she certainly is avant-garde though), but she did a nice Bond song:

It's another thing but I'd like to mention the Fanfare Ciocarlia's version, a funny one

Australia's own progger Ben Craven included a `mock' Bond theme on his recent `Last Chance to Hear' album (hint - it's one of the best prog albums of the year too! ), turned out terrific - cool instrumental stretch from the two minute to 3:30 stretch too:

Also, no doubt that assistant director mentioned in the video at the 51 second mark is some well-endowed, absurdly handsome star!

Ha, and the tune is also about a billion times better than that sloppy dreck `Writing's on the Wall' theme song from the recent `Spectre' movie!

how about Magma? I'd like to have the next Bond to be titled "Mekanïk Destruktïẁ Kommandöh" or "Zebëhn Straïn De Geustaah"

Black is Beautiful by Marcos Valle. Valle's not on this site, but is pretty damn near prog.

ELP - For the reasons/songs listed above as well as Pirates. Bond themes have mystery in them but also power, I know ELP were capable of these elements and would love to have heard their spin.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

I was actually thinking VDGG might be able to pull off a cool Bond theme, especially for a darker, grittier Bond film.
