Hi. I'm looking for some bands that have a very unique style or sound, and I tought to ask some advise from you folks here.
I'm still gonna give sone info about what kinds of bands I listen to even though I'm not really looking for anything similar necessarily. So here it goes, some of favourite bands: TOOL, The Mars Volta, Kayo Dot (from the guy behind maudlin of the well), Rishloo and Karnivool (I think they have more of a generic sound than the other guys. Not that it's a bad thing.) |

Unexpect is unique to say the least. I don't know how to post YouTube videos direct to this site. I'd appreciate a "how to post video's on progarchives for dummies session." But you can click on my two favorite UneXpecT albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9nXYZ2CI-s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwbEi1JRa7w&list=PL7C95DD6372D14CAC If you're looking for something fresh off the griddle...Try 2016's " Free Salamander Exhibit" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwbEi1JRa7w&list=PL7C95DD6372D14CAC "Seven Impale" and "Native Construct" merge metal and jazz, each in their own unique way.

Appriciate it, both of you! I do suppose I can handle copy-pasting.

Here are a couple of bands from the eclectic/jazz/avant side of things that have certainly struck me as unique:
Oz Urugulu (forgive the lack of umlauts) I'll add more as they come to mind.

I'm not really into this music but maybe Amplifier is a band to dig into.
And if you not have heard of them yet, maybe try some Oceansize: |

Definitely agree with Amplifier and Oceansize. Both are great bands, though both can be a bit hit or miss. When they're on, though, they're on.
The singer from Oceansize has a solo project now called Vennart. I've found that album to be quite catchy, though it's more akin to Oceansize's lighter moments. |
