As a high-production rock experience and the record that changed electric guitar forever, there is no comparison to the first. But Fair Warning does have some kickin' material that outdoes Van Halen and is a more perfect album.
They are even. 1984 not far behind, and VH 2 is decent.

I think that the whole Roth era was pretty consistently on point as a whole. Except maybe Diver Down... but that one seemed to be more just them having fun in the studio than anything. My personal favourite would actually be Women And Children First but it's hard to go wrong with anything Eddie put his hands on in the late 70's and early 80's, guitar-wise.

Fair Warning, probably the heaviest album they ever did. That album and Women and Children First will always be my favorites, I love every song on both albums. (Well, minus It Could be Magic on WaCF, but I still like it)
