The Yes Album, consistently better.

Fragile all the way. I could actually do without The Yes Album, since the only song I really like on that one is Starship Trooper, but it really pales in comparison to later live versions (specially on Keys to Ascension). On the other hand, I don't see such a problem with the solo parts of Fragile. The Fish is for me just like an extension of Long Distance Runaround, and that song is so much better for it, so that it doesn't sound complete to me without it. Mood for a Day is actually good. We Have Heaven... well, it isn't exactly good, but it's short and it's a nice intro to South Side of the Sky. The Bruford one, well, it's over before you can make your mind whether you like it or not. And the Wakeman one, I guess that's the less enjoyable of the lot, not really bad, but I once read that the music that later became Catherine of Aragon was the one he wanted to include on this album, yet he couldn't do so because of record deals (he was signed solo to a different record company than Yes and couldn't be credited writing music for Yes)... and indeed, if that piece had been included it's just the thing that would have made the album perfect.

Voted Yes album simply due to Starship Trooper.....but really they are both equal to me.

Wow. This is one of the most difficult polls i've done here. 50.001% of me goes toward the Yes Album, which fittingly ties it up :D

I was the tiebreaker, Fragile is the consistently stronger album IMHO.

the yes Album
Fragile is rather disjointed sounding, lacks flow.

They were still finding their voice on TYA. It's great but I think Rick brought much more to the table in the keyboard department. Tony Kaye almost sounds like a session musician(ie backing member) rather than a full member of the band here. I think Tony's organ may have been even more prominent on the first two Yes albums. Bruford's drumming sounds better and more energetic on those first two Yes albums also(imo).
