Wow.  Some interesting answers here so far.

Nobody has voted for The Yes Album or Fragile yet.

Current totals.

20 votes for a Tull album

20 votes for a Yes album

Although I love Yes, when I make a top 5 from these albums, Yes is nowhere near it.

1. Thick as a Brick
2. Benefit
3. Minstrel in the Gallery
4. Aqualung
5. Stormwatc

I sat on the fence when Thick as a Brick was up against Close to the Edge on an earlier poll and couldn't vote - probably leaning towards Thick as a Brick at present.

oohhh.. hard to vote against Benefit..  toss up with Stand Up for best album Tull ever made.  But it does have without a doubt in mind the best song they ever made.

Unfortunately... about 6 or 7 Yes albums bitch slap even the best Tull could manage.

Tales..  the pinnacle of prog. Every before in the 70's was ascent to mountaintop of prog.. everything after has a decent until it died.. only to be reborn in a more progressive guise umm hmm.

Right on. I also went with Tales, with The Yes Album as a close second.

Relayer.

Tull's best was never going to beat the best of Yes IMO. For what it's worth, TAAB is my favourite Tull album, followed by Songs from The Wood.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Taab
Tya
Heavy horses
App
Taaw

Top 5
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I like Tull but my top 5 would probably be all Yes albums before I got to a Tull album.
