Ranking the bands I'd always choose King Crimson first but I like quite a number of their albums more than Lark's. Same with Floyd/WYWH (no. 2 band here). So the best albums are Thick as a Brick > CTTE of the bands that share rank 3 and 4.

Larks has 15 minutes of filler
|
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

^ That 15 minutes I assume you're referring to is no less than the greatest musical achievement of the 20th century to my ears. Please don't reduce it to a mere 'filler' only because you don't grasp it.

"Larks' tongues. Wrens' livers. Chaffinch brains. Jaguars' earlobes. Wolf nipple chips. Get 'em while they're hot. They're lovely. Dromedary pretzels, only half a denar."

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

hmmm.. oh that's hard.. well sort of...
CTTE.. by light years over the other 3. Hard to rank the others.. well not really...Dull went into Dull mode.. so it gets the bottom... coin flip between the Floyd and KC albums...
and since I'm posting in the nude and don't happen to have a coin on me... I'll just use... oh nevermind
CTTE - WYWH - LTIA - Dull
