Topic: Best Andy Latiner guitar solo Posted: December 29 2017 at 19:56 |
I only clicked on this to see if anyone corrected your misspelling of "Latimer" D:) ... but this is a good poll question. I can't vote in polls yet (don't know why or how long it's going to take before am I able to) but my choice would be "Lady Fantasy" followed by the short (:44 - 1:07) solo in "Air Born". If I had to go with something on the list, it would be "Lunar Sea". Any song from Mirage or Moonmadness is tied for the best solo though.

Lunar Sea, then definitely Chord Change.

Lunar Sea - but agree that Lady Fantasy would have been a good poll choice as well.

Lunar Sea, Chord Change, Sahara and many more before Ice which is a nice song but overlong and over-rated IMO.

Agree with the two from 'Moonmadness' - "Chord Change" and "Lunar Sea" - but, lately, I have been enjoying listening to his guitar solo and Peruvian pipe work on "Stationary Traveller"...

Three superb solos that haven't been mentioned so far:- Summer Lightning (Breathless) Lies (Nude) Cotton Camp (Dust and Dreams)

I'm not familiar with some of Camel's later albums, but of the classic lineup albums, Lady Fantasy has my vote as well.

I'm surprised too. Can I be the second to mention it? |
Alright then go ahead

He had so many great ones, some technically, some emotionally, some just darn good music
Ice is probably my favorite, but I love the emotional soloing at the end of "Never Let Go" and "Long Goodbyes", among many others

I have a specific soft spot for Straight To My Heart, both the lead after the second (if I remember right) verse and the solo later on are some of my favourite things in all music.

Ice today, but Rhayader is the most exquisitely phrased.
But wait! There's more...

PS - I really hate these polls. They make me think about the music, then I want to go listen to the albums ;-)
