Before calling themselves Kaula Spanda (alternative spelling Kavla Spanda) the band used different names which included Nuswatta, Emp. Norton's Loving Hearts Club Band, The Anti-Disinformation League, Rev. Shiva and His Many Congregations, etc. but eventually settled on the name that can be traslated from Sanskrit as meaning "unifying vibrations of the universe" but also "band music" and everything in between. The four members met at the immigration center outside Moscow in winter of 2010 but went to pursue different goals in life. Their paths crossed once again in 2015 when they decided to form a band that wouldn't play chords and melodies but rather improvised adventures in sound. In November 2016 the band supported ZAUM on their Moscow show and released its debut album Kau via the internet for free the following month (mp3: vk.cc/5ZVdJl flac: vk.cc/5ZVAFY + vk.cc/5ZVzV7 + vk.cc/5ZVzvf + vk.cc/5ZVzc6 ).
