Close call. Quadrophenia.
A curse upon the heads of those who seek their fortunes in a lie. The truth is always waiting when there's nothing left to try. - Colin Henson, Jade Warrior (Now)

While Quadrophenia, and Tommy before it, early on defined the idea of a rock opera, I think The Wall mastered it. A really unique and important musical and lyrical statement.

I really also love the Wall, but Quadrophenia is the last Who album where are their great energy. Both are really pessimistic albums, but specially in the Quadrophenia-album there are some hope (the movie ends bad way). And about Physical I think it should have been one album as they were originally making it.
