So I have been getting into King Crimson's more experimental music (The Projekcts, Heavy Construkction, Construkction of Light, The Power to Believe etc). Any recommendations on other experimental prog bands?
Are you looking for more in the same vein or do you want to be challenged?
Albums in the same vein but different: Komara - s/t Guapo - Five Suns Nebelnest - Nova Express One Shot - Dark Shot Spoke Of Shadows - s/t Univers Zero - Uzed Djam Karet - The Heavy Soul Sessions
Experimental, challenging and very different from Crimson: Islands - Pictures Bubu - Anabelas Magma - MDK Franco Battiato - Pollution Henry Cow - Legend

I just got Anabelas on cd. Haven't listened to it yet but I love Bubu's other album.

Lately, the most experimental albums have been my favorite. Bands like Residents are an inspiration, Duck Stab, Meet the Residents, Not Available, Eskimo, Third Reich, God In Three Persons, Demons Dance Alone, Commercial Album(here's the music video for them!!
Umm, yeah if you have an open mind, COMPLETELY open, they're one of the most consistent weird-bands like Zappa. Shiina Ringo - Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana Cafe Tacuba - Reves (the album that turned many die-hard fans away with its classical movements and progressive nature)
Som Imaginario - Matanca do Porco
Any of Area
Bee Gees - Odessa (believe it or not)
Brigitte Fontaine - Comme à la radio (a very eastern-influenced album, nothing what I expected when I bought it. Inspired Cowboy Bebop's The Seatbelts) Cardiacs (as they're one of the best bands ever) - ALMAAHATWWW, On Land And In The Sea, Sing to God, Songs for Ships
Dun - Eros
Grupo Alternativa - Ipotesi
Mr. Bungle (as stated above) That should be enough
Don Caballero is kind of in the vein of the more technical King Crimson albums from the late 90's and early 00's. If you are looking for other good experimental albums, not necessarily in the vein of the stuff you have talked about, I recommend...
Aksak Maboul - Onze Danses Pour Combattre La Migraine The Muffins - <185> Shub-Niggurath - Les Morts Vont Vite Art Zoyd - Symphonie Pour Le Jour Où Brûleront Les Cités Pekka Airaksinen - Buddhas of Golden Light miRthkon - Snack(s) (Don't know this one very well, I've probably listened to it only once, but it might just be what you are looking for.) Cartoon - Cartoon (Same as above, I recall I liked it a lot, though.)
Don't know if these albums are exactly what you are looking for, but I guess it won't hurt to leave them here.

How weird ... their first four albums are way further out experimental than that one ... an in fact should be called .... mood music and welcome to the church of the electric guitar ... leave your ears at home, please!
