Duck Stab/Buster & Glen,
Unrest & Meet The Residents Know and enjoy pretty much everything except I'm unfamiliar with two of the Cardiacs-albums and not their biggest fan.

No more Zappa albums than Henry Cow and Cardiacs, mind you (four albums each). The Residents on the other hand has the first seven albums. Aksak Maboul and Mr Bungle have two albums each. Nothing wrong with posting various albums by the same acts, though.

Lots of Zappa choices which is fine - not stacking the deck are ?
Western Culture was tempting until I saw Heatwave tucked away at the bottom there. Boogie Nights. Great song. (Kidding. I know UZ did not do that number....) |

Many albums I love in the list, and this is one where I'd prefer a multiple choice poll, but I went with Vannier's l'enfant assassin des mouches. I adore that album. I probably would have gone with Unrest had the Vannier not been included. Agree about Art Zoyd, but then I am a massive Zoyd fan.

On Land and in the Sea, followed by the other Cardiacs albums and Heatwave. There's plenty of more stuff on the list that I like (and the mighty Art Zoyd are missing.)

Tons of stuff I love here, but my avatar went ahead and voted for itself.

Such a lot of things I love here...meaningful choice is impossible
Anyway, I voted for the Jean-Claude Vannier because it's really great and nobody else did yet...

After a lot of trying, I've finally got to understand the Cardiacs. I really like most of A Little Man....... and I'm currently working on Sing to God. But generally, this genre ain't my thing.

Too many choices and too many challenges to loyalties - it is the whole genre that needs to be voted up. Even Genesis went avant on 'The Waiting Room'. I went for IPOL for the sake of voting...an album that should have captured more mainstream prog consciousness/wider success - its opener is less than 3 mins (the kick ass War). The album is better than anything achieved by bands such as King Crimson, etc.

Tough call. I'll go with Western Culture over Weasels..., Uncle Meat, Heatwave, and DV.
