I'm approaching this as if there was no third option. So Wuthering get's my vote. Really the last great Genesis record before Banks and Collins got their way. have to say though both turned out better than anyone thought at the time. It's too bad that Seconds Out came out when it did.

Banks and Collins got their way? Rutherford was the first one to not want to do long songs anymore, if you watch videos of him talking about old albums, he is the one bashing the most. You'd think it would be Collins, but it's not. Tony complains more than Phil as well.

YOSW was written by Rutherford.

Wind and Wuthering, but this is a rather close call.

Both. Maybe not passionately, but two really good albums.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

The "weaker" moments on Wind & Wuthering are my favorite parts. It showed that the band weren't afraid to try new things while retaining the progressive nature of the music.

And what else needs to be said of A Trick Of The Tail. It's pure perfection.

So yeah, both for me!!!

agreed, I very rarely listen to them anymore.
When I do , it's generally the one-two punch of Entangled and Squonk

A Trick of The Tail all the way.

A lot of memorable moments for me; the other never clicked with me.

Unfortunately yeah. I still love them after that but you're right.. they were never quite the same again.

No sh*t, gentlemen. Hackett leaving the group during the mixing of Seconds Out accounted for your magical realization.

Both are some of my favorite albums, but Trick of the Tail is what made me a Genesis fan for life so I gotta go with that one.

^ You've learned from the best! Wink

Anyway, A Trick of The Tail for me. Not crazy about either album, but Trick has Entangled and Ripples, two of my favourite Genesis songs.
when i was a kid a doller was worth ten dollers - now a doller couldnt even buy you fifty cents
