Can you choose only 1 all-time, hands-down favorite? The one album you'd choose if you could only have 1 for the rest of your life?
I can.
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon
[Edited to add: This will help me sift through all of the great recommendations on this site... I can focus on everyone's top favorite, and don the headphones accordingly.]

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
(I apologize for spamming this site that much with this band by the way )

Not sure whether in all situations I'd rate Holger Czukay's Movies as the best album of them all, but if I could choose only one to keep, it would surely be this one. Absurdly entertaining and surprising even after 500 listens.

I'm listening to this one now. I already adore it, and it's only 45 seconds in. Thanks.
Your recommendation made for an almost surreal commute home. Gridlocked traffic, heavy grey sky, lots of rain... it was intense, and I did indeed enjoy it. Thanks.

Wish you were Here for me. Cinquieme Saison is really beautiful indeed too. Histoires sans paroles is up there among my very favourite songs along with Shine on you Crazy Diamond.

Fantastic album, just
finished listening to it for the first time. I will not get over how good
this is. Adding it to my next purchase list. THANKS.

I may have thought I could at some point, but no. Among my countless no. 1 favorites here's probably the album I could imagine "living with" though (but even in that context I have atleast another handful I could have gone for instead)
