Topic: Favorite main tracks on The Yes Album Posted: January 04 2018 at 03:15 |
Yours is no. Starship and Perpetual are really great too, but Your is no is the first Yes piece that hit me. Still always it sounds really great!

Ugh. Very weak album. I'd would say I've Seen All Good People, but then they get the second part that just repeats the same thing over and over again. I don't get that. They have a song called Starship Trooper, and it has some semi-funky guitar vamp in the background. I don't get that. The Yes Album was the first Yes album I bought, and though I had some avid Yes fans as friends, it was the last Yes album I bought for a real long time thereafter.

Yours Is No Disgrace easily. It's one of my favorite yes songs.

I really had to think about this one! And in the end, I couldn't settle on anything. Yours Is No Disgrace, Starship Trooper and Perpetual Change are all probably top 30 songs for me, so I had to go with the indecisive "equally great" option.

There's actually an unedited version that which clocks in at over 4 minutes long that you can find on youtube. I don't think it ever made it to any cd reissues though. Even though that version might be close to five minutes long it's still very short by classic Yes standards and therefore too short to make the list. Even ISAGP is rather short compared to many of their early to mid seventies songs.

"No Disgrace" is fun to play bass to! I love doing my Chris Squire imitation while playing this song on my Rickenbacker!
Not a bad song on the LP, one of their best. This photo is from that era.

Great album but "Yours Is No Disgrace" is simply amazing and pointed the way to everything else they did. And it features some of Steve Howe's best playing.

I'm having a surprisingly difficult time giving any coherent order to these. Any track could be the best or the worst of the four. I've been underrating this album apparently.
Leaning slightly towards Yours Is No Disgrace, but honestly I have no idea.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
