Anyone else know of the fanatastic prog metal/prog classical band DEVIL DOLL from Slovenia?
I have all of their albums and think that they are one of the best, having a sound of their own and a achilling mystery about the whole band!

I've got a few of Mr. Doctor's albums.  5 minutes between topic and bump is no reason to think you're the only one.

Great approach (gothic prog, kinda) but I never really warmed up to them, I found them just a little too ridiculous, but that's just me.

If you like DD you might like Goblin- not as hard-hitting but just as spooky. Or if you're really daring you could try Lard Free's Spirale Malax album- that will really give you lovely prog nightmares.

They always struck me as being rather naff. They try that bit too hard to be gothic.

It's kinda complicated. In the beginning Mr. Doctor had two line-ups of Devil Doll. He was the only one who was a member in both line-ups. The other line-up was located in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and included Slovenian players and the other line-up was located in Venice (Italy) and it included Italian players. In the liner notes of the 1st album "The Girl who was... Death", the band is divided into these two sections. The 2nd album "Eliogabalus" was recorded with the Venice section only. After this album the two different sections were joined into one by Mr. Doctor and including members from both sections.
