Hello all,

this is my first suggestion, so I hope I am doing it properly. I also hope that it won't be too much if I open a few threads in a raw, as I wish to fill some gaps in the Bulgarian representation here. Later I would be doing it for other Balkan countries, too.

______

So, the first band I would suggest, is:

VIRTUEL (Bulgaria)

Virtuel is a Progressive/Christian rock band from Varna, Bulgaria. It was formed in early 90’s by Nick Markov (keyboards, guitar, songwriter) and Rosen Angelov (vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, songwriter) under the name JEKYLL HYDE. Few years later the guitar virtuoso Konstantin Jambazov joined the band for a number of local and national gigs. He is also a songwriter and plays bass, keyboards and does the drum programming. Before changing the name in 2011, they had one album - “Return to Revelation”, released in 1998. Their debut as VIRTUEL named "I" was released in 2011 digitally, followed by "Conception of Perception" (2013), which was released by Japanese label Orphictone. The three musicians live in 3 different countries (Nick Markov-USA, Rosen Angelov-UK and Konstantin Jambazov-Bulgaria) and due to that the band is currently inactive.

Some songs are kinda poppy, but some are pure progressive. That's why the Crossover tag, I guess.

No official page. Here is a synthesis from the Bulgarian rock archives: http://www.bg-rock-archives.com/discography.php?band_id=626

Sounds good.
It's more finer you can send me their whole album "I" or "Conception Of Perception" via sharing sites or so.

Thanks a lot.

Sure, if you give me an e-mail I can send it via WeTransfer. I have only the first album, but I am searching for the second, as well.

Sampler of the second album "Conception of Perception" from the Japanese record label ORPHICTONE:

Sounds uncannily like Asia...Some of the vocals sound exactly like John Wetton!

Seems like it was only ever released in Japan.

Presentation of the "Conception of Perception" album on the "Картини от една изложба" (Pictures of an Exhibition) show on Bulgarian National Radio, January 18, 2014 (interwoven with an interview with members of the band in Bulgarian, and in two parts):

I think that's in the correct order, but I don't understand what is being said, so I'm not sure!

Thanks very much for the links! I discovered the first album in 2014 and liked it, but didn't know until recently about the second one. An interesting band it is, but unfortunately only a studio project. At least I haven't heard about any shows in Bulgaria.

The videos from the radio shows are in correct order. This show is just awesome - it presents every Sunday a progressive rock album it its entireness and with comments. Quite the rare case for our country.
