Looks like I got my Top-5 of 2018 prog-wise:

1. Vennart - To Cure A Blizzard Upon A Plastic Sea
2. Qujaku - s/t (japanese Swans, do give them a listen!)
3. Lunatic Soul - Under the Fragmented Sky
4. Sisare - Leaving The Land
5. La Horsa Bianca - Somatic Schematic (a young Ukrainian band that for some reason sounds very RPI-ish)

and honorable mentions include:
Vespero - Hollow Moon
Fish - A Parley With Angels EP
Beak> - >>>
Black Peaks - All That Divides
Strangefish - The Spotlight Effect
Argos - Unidentified Dying Objects
Field Music - Open Here
JIRM - Surge Ex Monumentis
Clau Aniz - Filha De Mil Mulheres
Pobeda - The Honesty Field

Getting around to listen to some things being suggested by others...

Any chance Mother Turtle's album was released as a CD or is it just a download?

I asked the band about this back in March and they told me there was no plan for a CD release.

I got ahold of Far Corner and All Traps On Earth too late for inclusion but they both would have made the list:

I wonder why no one has Needlepoint on their lists. It's an incredible album, outstanding tunes with exceptional musicianship!

Sorry about the spam here, but this album is also incredible if you're into folk:

Alasdair Roberts, Amble Skuse & David McGuinness - "What News":
