I've recently started liking Duke quite a bit more than I used to, but I still think it's too long. I went with Drama. Pretty great album.

no contest for me.

I don't like Duke at all (but I'm not a huge Genesis fan tbh)
Drama has some good moments but is patchy as are all Yea album for me after Going for the One

But Permanent Waves is a brilliant album in my completely subjective opinion

What he said, pretty much exactly

Just for the info.....based on PA rankings....Waves is rated no 1 that year (Gabriel's first is no 2), Drama no 21, and Duke no 40.

I love Yes, but this poll puts one of their second tier albums up against one of Rush's best.  No contest.

Duke a distant third.

Drama was my first Yes album on vinyl, and I don't particularly care for Rush or Genesis in the 80's so Drama takes the cake easily for me

How in the world is Duke so far back here? I guess people think it's too 'pop' and so this is the punishment.

Actually, I'm surprised Duke has the votes it has.
Regardless of whether or not people view Duke as too pop, those are some really good albums it's up against.

3 excellent albums indeed. I went for Duke but easily could have gone for either of the other two.

The great simplification had begun, and Rush very smartly moved into the space previously occupied by the major bands who had stopped being 'progressive' by the late 70s.  I lived through this and clutched at the straws offered by Yes and Genesis.  I generally despise Rush, stopped buying Genesis on release after 'Duke' but kept with Yes up until 'Union'.  'Drama' is more integrated; the best of the three.
