Really always loved Disraeli and Wheels studio album! Wheels first live side is great, Traintime is ok, but although Ginger is great drummer, I always lost my interest of Toad somewhere in ten minutes. But the days were like that in those days!
Of course it's proto-prog....and proto-fusion.....and proto-metal.....and proto-proto! Those cats blew the roof off the musical world....massive influence, massive talent, massive sound. I've been on a Jack Bruce kick of late, which brought me back to this album.....great Jack tracks (Deserted Cities!), but Side 3, man, Side 3!
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Love the album, as a teenager it was my favourite album for quite some time. To me it's a Proto Prog album, but I shouldn't get into that debate again.

"Wheels of Fire" by Cream is such an innovative and exciting double album for its time; Jean and I lately rediscovered it, and currently it runs a lot at home. I can't sing the praise of it high enough.
