My band, Mutiny in Jonestown was added to PA as American neo-prog (though it was also suggested for psych/space, eclectic and heavy which likely would have been a better fit) so go figure

ok... let's forget neo-prog and make it "second/new wave of prog influenced by 70s progressive rock giants". How to call SB and Echolyn to sound politically correct here then? Neo-symphonic prog? Marillion, SB, Echolyn, Pendragon, all of them are influenced by Genesis, Yes, PF... My inital intention was to find out if local prog fans prefer American or UK development of "new wave" of prog. Btw. is there American neo-prog as well? Or is it just limited to UK bands (Marillion, Pendragon, IQ, Arena, Credo...)?

^ I've already said that SB and Echolyn are not neo-prog.
No one's reading previous posts anymore? (sigh)

I just want to say I don't consider Echolyn to be neo prog. I don't think SB is either. Does anyone else agree with me?

Spocks Beard and Echolyn are very good.
But Marillion and Pendragon are superb!

This is my fifth attempt to post a comment. I don't know why at certain times this site won't let me post a comment. Anyway, Pendragon is way too cheesy for me. Don't like the vocals. Too whiny. I like Echolyn more than Spock's Beard. But Marillion, with Fish or Hogarth, is better than Echolyn.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Hard to choose, but I vote for the US Symphonic because the last self-titled Echolyn album blows the others away.

Pendragon is awfully cheesy to these ears. But either version of Marillion is better than Spock's Beard or Echolyn, even though I'd take either of them over Pendragon.

I prefer Spock's Beard than the rest. Don't really care about Echolyn, so I'm quite confused about who to vote for, maybe I won't.

Don't like Pendragon much (except for The Jewel), but Fish era Marillion is strong enough on it's own to beat both Spock & Echolyn

A curious poll. Can't decide between the pairs. Now if you had put Marillion and Spock's Beard together!!!!

I like Echolyn most of these by some distance, don't care too much about the others, so it's clear where the vote goes.
