The french singer Jacques Higelin died few days ago. Jean Claude Vannier arranged that song for him and Brigitte Fontaine. One of the best french song ever written.

Melody Lyrics are very important. There are inspired by the novel of Nabokov : Lolita.

The rhythmic was recorded first, then the strings, then the lyrics. It was a flop in 1971, just like "Lhomme à tête de chou" the other Gainsbourg masterpiece in 1976.

Melody Nelson. Great album. Great music, very unusual and poetic lyrics
A master piece due to the Gainsbourg/Vannier cooperation

I actually do have that Melody Nelson record, I didn't realize it was a Serge Gainsbourg recording. I haven't spun it yet but I have it lined up for review in a couple of months.

F*** Captchas?
Did you try to post the same poll a second time after not being authorised for a first time? This usually works... obviously you need to copy and save what you write before you post it for the first time so that you don't lose it.
I can't imagine that the four little gems are banned for some reason. It's probably rather the evil Captcha messing things up. Angry

Hi Lewian, Thanks. Jean cLaude Vannier and Gainsbourg are national treasures in France. Concerning my "four little gems"polls, I tried to continue, but I was not authorized to post anymore. Don't know why.

Not sure, but I'm afraid that in the future only vinyl with a download card will be available.

^ The trouble is that digging J-C Vannier is cool and hip, and it's the unwritten law that cool and hip re-releases are vinyl only. CDs are for squares, man
