Around 1990,  Poland were an active country producing some of the finest Prog around...

Satellite, College, Riverside, SBB and Quidam..

Apart from Riverside.   Who are the currently active both new and old...  Seems I have not heard many new bands coming from Poland...

Any suggestions or thoughts?

SBB is one of my favourite band and I also quite like Siekiera, Czeslaw Niemen, Marek Grechuta and Ewa Demarczyk.

EDIT - chances are none of them are still active though.

"Larks' tongues. Wrens' livers. Chaffinch brains. Jaguars' earlobes. Wolf nipple chips. Get 'em while they're hot. They're lovely. Dromedary pretzels, only half a denar."

Also check out Zjednoczone Siły Natury Mech. Their early recordings are the most proggish. Atlantis Suite and Ogrod Snów are really delicious.

Some of my fav currently active Polish artists:

Wacław Zimpel (Hera, LAM, Saagara)
Niechęć
Shofar
Cracow Klezmer Band
Merkabah
Innercity Ensemble
Light Coorporation

+ a ton of black metal bands that I'll restrain myself from mentioning

Lizard, especially the album "Spam", and doubly-especially the track "Spam 5".  Also good are: "Psychopuls", "W Galerii Czasu", and "Tales from the Artichoke Wood".  What I like about these is the nice use of violin in their prog renderings.

I don't care for their latest album, "Master & M" -- big changes in lineup, and a huge shift in style.

Their website has samples of everything... http://lizard-band.com/index.html
