VdGG, hands down. Camel are way too mainstream for my taste. I have a weak spot for "The Snow Goose" though

Mainstream?  That surprises me!!.. Most people I know have heard of VDGG,  but not so much of Camel.

so what? VdGG are a "love or hate" band and much discussed because of this. it is much more fun to talk about extremes than to talk about mainstream

Camel has three great LP's: Mirage, Snow Goose and Moonmadness.
VDGG has three great LP's: Pawn Hearts, God Bluff and Still Life.
This is tough but hinges on the entirety of the two discographies.
VDGG gets my vote.

Haha! I agree it could be funny for a month or two but it gets somewhat tedious after a decade.

Reminds me of good ol' Micky who's still highly (in his case very seriously) pissed off by the release of A Momentary Lapse of Reason...and it's been 31 f**king years!!

I do enjoy Camel, but come on; they’re just not in the same league as the Electrostatic Generator.
