Isolated cases ignore the legacy and position of Gentle Giant and focus on the releases of these three raw albums. All of them have some "uglyness" or raw sound. Distnictness Giant have both jazz and a folk side, Gnidrolog have a heavy jazz thinged side and Comus a heavy folk side. So this is isolated about each debute album, so indifferent to later history. Jut about the genuin sound.
Which of these albums feels most genuine, nimble (non-contrived) |

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Harry’s Toenail is insanely BRILLIANT !! Just a smidge over GG.
I like Comus too, but nowhere near the others. |

Comus easily. Harry's Toenail is pretty tasty too ;). That first GG is equally the weakest of their first eight, though.

All these albums are equally magnificent to me.
Gnidrolog deserves more recognition for sure. It's a more complex album that is harder to grasp that requires multiple listens.

First Utterance may be even more genuine than the other two, but it is my least favourite. I pick Gnidrolog.
