I have a softer spot on the less known Atom Heart Mother. Pink Floyd never replayed like that

None of those is a (nearly-)sidespanning epic like the four listed here (and four are live recordings of previously released material). I guess my definition of "epic" may be more narrow than some here would use. |

Well, I think in "Ummagumma" there are those four live tracks that are kind of "epics" also of course Sysyphus, the Narrow Way & the Grand Viziers Garden Party.

Are there other epic-length tracks in the Pink Floyd studio canon? Not that I could discover. |

I voted for Shine On You Crazy Diamond because of the emotional weight behind it, plus the keyboard opus at the end, plus the iconic opening guitar line - I saw Pink Floyd in '88 in Tokyo and I remember them opening with that and it was just so mind-blowing lol Plus the backing vocals. It maybe doesn't get as (musically) heavy as Dogs or Echoes but it's also so epic that it's also the name of the album, in fact it seems to include everything on the album, whereas Dogs & Echoes are merely parts of a larger whole.

Although Animals is my favourite Pink Floyd album, and Dogs is my favourite track on that album, Echoes is my favourite Pink Floyd track.

No, I know how to behave in the restaurant now, I don't tear at the meat with my hands. If I've become a man of the world somehow, that's not necessarily to say I'm a worldly man.

Such a toss between "Echoes" and "Shine On" for me, sheesh. Ask me on a different day and I might have voted for "Echoes."
