Which song do you think is the best? I've always had a soft spot for Inca Roads, Sofa, Florentine and Andy but I'm feeling Sofa No. 1 today so that gets my vote. Most songs from this album could be considered Zappa classics, so I'm interested to see how they fare against each other.

I guess the 'correct answer' would be Inca Roads, but I voted for Po-Jama People because he just tears it up on guitar during that one. Great album obviously and possibly his best.. but then he has so many great albums. I love Gentle Giant, Genesis, Yes, etc. But I don't think any of them have as many great albums as this guy.

Usually I'd go Inca Roads, but I'll change it up a bit today and go Sofa No.2.

San Ber'dino, po-jama people, Inca Roads, all great songs in this album. It's very hard to choose.

So mamy to choose from. Went with Po-Jama People today - ask again tomorrow would likely be something different (Inca Roads, Sofa, Florentine, San Ber'dino, or Andy).

Po-Jama People - I use to torture my kids with this one by singing it at bedtime. Always fun!

Inca Roads is the obvious choice, but I'm going with Florentine Pogen...every time Napoleon starts singing I get this crazy smile that just won't go away

In another pole about favorite Zappa albums someone exclaimed that they didn't understand why people find One Size Fits All Zappa's best album. If you don't understand, just read these comments. You'll see others agree with me that this album is special; brilliant song writing, brilliant instrumentation, brilliant musicianship, all infused with an undeniable sense of humor - that unlike some of Zappa's other "humorous" songs is consistently G rated. I've said before, and I'll say again, One Size Fits All is my goto Zappa album.

Surprised there's no votes for Andy yet - one of the proggiest on the album.
Although I'm more likely to spin his instrumental fusion stuff these days, OSFA is like an amalgamation of all the best things of 70's FZ rolled into one neat package. One size fits all indeed.

Inca Roads might be the obvious choice but I decided Can't Afford No Shoes as FZ can knock out a really cool tune along with the very intellectual stuff. Gem of an album.

Inca Roads is among Zappa's best tracks. it shines not only here, but even more on The Helsinki Concert (YCDTOSA#2), and there is a very interesting and good version on "Roxy by Proxy".
Sofa is also one of my favourite Zappa songs, but not this version - I much prefer the 1971 live version with Flo and Eddie (found not only on YCDTOSA#1, but also the 1971 Carnegie Hall live concert album, and a number of boots).

Inca Roads is vintage Zappa. The guitar sound, Helsinki rcording!, makes me think of jazz player Harvey Mandel.
But really, I almost had Sofa selected. I have an entire burned CDR based on Sofa, Zappa nythology and Flo and Eddie. I like Zappa attempting German. Live versions of San Berdino are better than the original. Baby Snakes one. Edited by Tero1 - September 16 2018 at 14:41 |

Inca Roads is obviously going to win, but I have a personal soft spot for Florentine Pogen (Brock is incredible). Both Sofa tracks rule, as well. The whole album is a masterpiece!

^ Andy is a wicked tune; surprised it doesn't have more votes.
