Woke up this morning with this idea in my head: what songs/parts of songs, for you, stand out and exemplify jazz fusion? I'll start with some examples:

The solo section in Zappa "Inca Roads" always perfectly tickles my fusion nerve (starts around 6:34):

Gentle Giant "The Boys in The Band" (essentially the entire thing):

Pestilence "Demise of Time" (essentially entire song, but especially this Holdsworth-esque lead at the end; start at 2:55):

These are just a few that come immediately to mind. What songs/parts of songs scream "JAZZ FUSION!!!" for you? Tongue

Didier Malherbe is the favorite sax-player of my mothers too, perhaps with the exception of Aunt Bea, the sister of my natural mother BaldJean. But Aunt Bea is family and does therefore not really count.

You really do have interesting relative circumstances. And you all like prog and are on the website. Thats fascinating and funny. : D

I think the Malherbe song is somewhat zeuhlish at least. Lewian
