That's a shame those are great records, go hunt down copies
But I must admit that approx. 95 pct. of my records feature keyboards or electronics of some sort. I'm just saying that it certainly is possible that progressive compositions can be played without keyboards!

That's a silly question, of course there can be progressive music without keyboards, what is important and what makes music progressive is merely the composition and the way it's played, the intruments by which the composition is played play a minor role IMO.
These are all great Prog records without keyboards:
T2 - It will all work out in Boomland
NEU! - NEU! (it suprisingly features no keyboard or electronics)
Kraan - Live '75 (one of the greatest live albums of all time)

WHAT!!!!!!!
IN THE T2 'S ALBUM THERE AREN'T ANY KEYBOARDS?????????????????
IT ISN'T TRUE, GUITARIST KEITH CROSS PLAYS ALSO THE KEYBOARDS AND DRUMMER PETER DUNTON PLAYS ALSO THE MELLOTRON !!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS BAND RECORDED ANOTHER ALBUM IN 1970 BEFORE SPIT UP BUT WAS NEVER RELEASED UNTIL 1997 IN LIMITED EDITION AND THEN BY ACME IN 2000.THIS LOST ALBUM IS NOT ON THE SAME LEVEL AS "IT'LL ALL WORK OUT IN BOOMLAND", BUT IS MORE PROG THANKS TO A MORE ACCENTUATED USE OF THE MELLOTRON.

You can definitely have prog. without keyboards (King Crimson immediately comes to mind, although they did have some earlier in the band's history). But, I'd argue that keyboards always have a huge place in prog. and really deserve to be there for completeness.
Wishbone Ash was good, but they don't seem progressive. They were just colorful in the guitar department. The song structures were pretty straightforward (no complex arrangements or non-standard time signatures), more in line with standard rock.

Prog could surely exsist without keys and synth (Isn't Careless of steel by Rush prog?).....it's however true that keys and synth have made history of genre....so....unnecessary but important (if you pass me this horrible wordgame)

The moog was invented for prog By the way, thats not an invitation for a reply along the lines of ... "Actually, the moog was not invented for prog ..."

You say East of Eden, now I don't have much East of Eden, only their 1969 Amogies pop Festival performance in highly trunkated form, but one track has piano.
