Agreed--  a knife for 'self-defense' is folly.

I use either lazer beams or energy blasts from my hands in self-defence.

don't worry ... we don't trust anyone who lives in the land of unicorns, fairies and elves.

It is a bad world out there...  bless you if you live in a different world.

^ It's a very fair point:  so easy for someone living or working in a relatively safe area to say "don't use a knife or gun for defense", but there are those who truly may need some kind of protection other than their fists or the police, even if they'd rather not resort to it.

My view is that if guns were not so readily available (I’m aiming this at US) then gun crime would not be so high. I understand those who live in shadier neighbourhoods, but I do feel many are just middle aged man-boys living in perfectly safe areas using their “right” to carry arms as an excuse. Happiness is a warm gun?

^ I agree, but that's so easy to say.  Walk a mile ...

Well, look at other countries with high gun ownership, like Pakistan, for example.

Someone breaks wind out of place and they all go and fire 9mm's into the sky.

However. This is perhaps a separate thread, ladies and gentlemen. ;-)

yeah this is a topic best discussed elsewhere.. we were having some fun with knife and gun porn as being more manly than flashflight porn... and in fact I was heading that way with this  topic in a more pertinent thread.  I hope I didn't come across as an cynical a****le in my reply, oh I am one, but only an a****le to those that deserve it.  LOL The cynicism comes with ..as Dave well puts it.. one who has walked many a mile. In a perfect world sweetie.. but that is far from what we have.

Welcome to the forum btw.
