Haven’t heard either for ages but as I recall it was Sabbath.

I think Sab is infinitely more musically satisfying than Ozzy solo albums. I also think Mob Rules is better than HH. Not dissing Ozzy. I like his vocals on the early Sab albums very much. I can't imagine the early Sab with Dio on vocals and I don't think they'd have the same vibe at all without Oz.

1980 was the best surprise ever.
After thinking an era had ended with Ozzys departure from Sabbath an metal had an unfilmable hole, instead of getting zero great albums, we get two of the best ever. Instead of being gone, Ozzy goes and turns out an album that is worthy of his best work with Sabbath (thanks in no small part to Randy Rhoads) and Sabbath.... well, the just go on to put out the single greatest metal album of all time. |

Heaven And Hell by a country mile. Blizzard Of Ozz is still a good album but not quite on the same level, and it hasn't aged well.

And as for the poll question: Ozzy all the way!!

And I must be in the tiniest minority when I prefer Dehumanizer above them both.

I do too, now, although I did not feel that way at the time. As a teen, I preferred HH.

Revelation: Mother Earth from BoO is an amazing song. Mr. Crowley is pretty good too. Those are the only really enjoyable moments from either of those albums. I suspect I sit in the minority when I consider "Mob Rules" to be the superior of the Dio era Sabbath albums.

Sabbath.
I do like Blizzard though. It's probably Ozzy's best album, although I thought Diary of a Madman was pretty good. After that...no thanks. |

I have them both on my playlist for the weekend. Haven't heard these two in a long while.
I'll come back next week. |

Randy Rhoads' performance on BOO is probably the only thing that could make me choose anything over Black Sabbath.
Ozzy on this one.
