Just for fun. These to me ,seems to have the most hardcore fans around these parts.
Like the guy who refused to vote in a poll, because his one band was not listed in the poll?

Van der Graaf Generator (of course).

While there are a number of King Crimson tracks that I love, overall I'm not a fan of their music.

VdGG by a narrow but definite margin. I don't consider this to be a contradiction.

A Van der King Crimsonator poll, how nice. Just add Magma and we could have Vander King Crimsonator. Okay, that was frippant of me, and truly hammy even by my own poor standards.

Love both, these are two of my favourite big names in Prog, but Van der Graaf Generator has been the more important part of my musical diet over the years and will get my vote.

At one point it would have been King Crimson, but these days VdGG gets my vote.

If Magma were added, Van der Graaf Generator would still get my vote, though I prefer Magma to King Crimson.

Regarding my musical diet over the years they both come and go in waves. Lately its arguably been more about King Crimson and Lizard - but I can't say its because I prefer the mentioned band over the other. Soon it may be VdGG's turn... I'm certain it will at some point.

Love both, but KC takes it for me.

It appears to be a close poll.

For those new to creating polls on here I recommend doing what I do and that is adding additional options such as "both equally" or "neither" or even "don't know both well enough to vote." This elicits more votes and the poll will stay around longer. Just a fyi.

To me it's no contest...Crimson.................but then I could never stand Hammill's caterwauling.

VdGG,
Whilst I enjoy and appreciate the music of KC, i find it too precise and clinical.
I love the guttural sounds vdgg come out with, it is pure emotion.

I advise against that. Fence sitting should not be supported. (At least you didn't suggest "other", which is the worst.)
