I don't like Porcupine Tree, I'm not sure how they've become a household name in prog world. I should vote Marillion, but there are just 2-3 albums I listen to occasionally, so it's better to leave it as it is.

Easy choice for Marillion. The Tree is good, but hugely overrated

had to plum for both equally.
Quite different bands. Marillion are an ensemble band. But I tend to think of Porcupine Tree as being a vehicle for Steven Wilson, althiugh that maybe a little unfair on Richard Barbari.

I've always liked Porcupine Tree and never liked Marillion, so that was an easy choice to make.

Me too. I could never get into PT. But I listened to Clutching at Straws the other day and it's fuсking amazing! So I guess my vote goes to Marillion.

Two bands I really don't "get." I've enjoyed their music (to a degree) but find both very bland. That said, I do like Steven Wilson's solo output much better.

I do not care about Porcupine Tree at all, and for Marillion, I do like what they release untill mid last decade, the rest for me are forgettable releases

Anyway you want to do it, say by separating the early, mid and late periods, I still can't separate the two bands, so it's both equally for me, even though their music is very different.

Can't believe I voted FOR Porcupine Tree...

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

I love Marillion so it breaks my heart to vote against them, but Porcupine Tree are my favorite band (along with about a dozen other bands). I like SW's solo work, except his last, but none of it grabs me the way PT does. That said, Marillion has many incredible moments (Easter, Ocean Cloud, Forgotten Sons, etc.)

A few days ago I just wrote how I rather not have/use the "Both" option in this sort of polls. I just have to use it now.
