So I was grooving on Bent Knee and this popped into my head as a fun poll.  Just looking at the artists I have put up it is impossible to choose a favorite.  So I'm gonna allow multiple votes.

German symphonic prog band Hoelderlin have a strong violinist, and Chris Karrer in Amon Düül II plays the violin on occasion with good effect.

Of this list, King Crimson. Jethro Tull had also great violins, conduted by David Palmer (now Dee Palmer).

From the list, the Mahavishnu Orchestra.  It's hard to pass up Jean-Luc Ponty's solo efforts (Imaginary Voyage, Enigmatic Ocean, Cosmic Messenger, Individual Choice, etc.)

Kansas, It's a beautiful Day, Big Big Train, the Flock, King Crimson, PFM, Pavlov's Dog, Outer Limits, Family, Zello, David Cross band, Dixie Dregs, UK, Caravan(at times). Not sure who else but I'm sure there's plenty others. Oh wait, this is a poll? :P

Van der Graaf. Graham Smith's violin on The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome give that album a distinctly different sound from the Van der Graaf Generator albums.
