King Crimson, for the following reason: the Yes and VDGG albums were by groups just then discovering their musical voice; the Genesis pair showed a band at the beginning its downward career arc. But Crimson in 1974, and the album Red in particular, represented the pinnacle of Progressive Rock in the 1970s.

Fragile was a December '71 release in the UK, and hit the US in '72. |

Depends on your point of view. On a site like this one many would agree. However, from a popularity and success standpoint, Genesis were just getting started. Nothing downward about that arc EDIT - damn typo

Yes Album/Fragile for me. While the others are good to very great, it doesn't get better than these two Yes albums for this poll at least.

Least We Can Do is Wave/H to He for me. "Red" is amazing but starless is not as good. Both Yes and Genesis albums are classic too

I'll take Yes from the selections provided... ...but would choose ELP - Tarkus / Pictures at an Exhibition (1971) as a preferred un-included choice
