This subject has come up here in one form or another in the past.
Is there a band that you like but your spouse/partner/significant other can't stand?

The only album my wife & I have in common is Queen's Greatest Hits. She likes old school Heavy Metal (AC/DC, Led Zep etc), traditional jazz (Coltrane, Brubeck, Rollins), Blues & Rock (Stones, Beatles, etc).
She pretty much hates everything I listen to.

Pretty much this right here. Zero appreciation for any kind of prog, unless you count The Moody Blues, who we saw together multiple times in the late '80s and early '90s.

I should be so lucky lucky lucky to have a partner/spouse, but if I did, I hope she would like Prog-Rock more than she likes Kylie Minogue.

^Same here......my wife and I saw the Moody Blues several times but other than that she's not a fan of prog. She does like a few Yes songs, some Traffic-Low Spark, some Peter Gabriel.

I don’t know yet. She’s a very serious significant other, but we’ve only been together for a few months. She likes my guitar playing. That much is good.

I don’t understand it. She loves Pink Floyd but is only lukewarm on Airbag. Likes the more accessible songs of Sylvan but doesn’t really appreciate Pendragon. Likes Anathema, but gets bored with Porcupine Tree. Then out of the blue yells to Alexa to play Celine Dion. (Shrugs helplessly)

Quite a few, but I'll only list the top three: Rush, Rush, and Rush.

Hell no, there's a hell of a lot more important stuff in our life than shared music tastes.

My better half has suffered two King Crimson concerts with me, whic she didn;t appear to hate. She appears fairly indifferent to prog rock, enjoys some Genesis and a bit of Floyd here and there. She likes 80's music more than anything else; New Romantic, synth pop stuff and is quite a big fan of Prince.
Prog hasn't really touched her, but neither has it evoked hatred. |

King Crimson. Magma. The Residents. Not allowed to play them around her. Pretty much anything that is shrill or dissonant. Prefers Yes to Tull. Likes the more melodic side such as Moody Blues, Alan Parsons Project. Gets heavily into Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett.
