Living in the Past for me, but Hymn 43 was close, as were most of them.

Believe me Pope Paul, my toes are clean

BTW, where's 'Life's a Long Song'?  Does that fail because it's an EP?

Hmmm, very hard. Living in the Past is the best song, but I don't get much from their straight blues rock numbers and the Driving Song is forgettable. They're better when they do folky or in any way special instrumentation rather than blues rock plus flute, for example I like Mother Goose quite a bit more than Hymn 43. Eventually I find myself voting for Love Story/Christmas Song, which I like both quite a bit (Fat Man isn't bad as a B-side either but doesn't really make me want to hear it many times), despite generally not being too keen on christmas songs. The first single is a very modest start, they hike up their level very strongly after that one.

I'm wondering if anyone on here knows that the very first single was put out as Jethro Toe. Tongue

When it comes to Jethro Tull, I simply cannot choose one over the other.

"Living in the Past" because I really AM living in the past by trawling through the vast ProgArchives, constantly looking for obscure British prog albums to review from the golden era of prog. Smile

Witch's Promise/Teacher - That's one hell of a double A-side!

Witch's Promise/Teacher is the best duo of the lot, although Hymn 43/Mother Goose and Bouree/Fat Man are both stellar as well.

Little bit wonder how Sweet Dream hasn´t got any votes. It´s one of my big Jethro faves. Does people like more that synth version of Bursting Out? I like more that original real orchestra version. Of course 17 is not really great one, it´s more typical b-side.
