"Nothing" isn't meant to be as absolutist as it sounds. It basically just means you typically won't reach for something after a certain album but of course there could be rare exceptions when you do. I won't hold it against anyone if they like some stuff here and there(or even album or two)that comes after the time period they specified. Then again there is the "other" option also if someone thinks that's a better fit for them.

I'm beginning to think based on your comment and others that I probably should have added a "nothing after 90125" option. However, my personally opinion is that BG is at least nearly as good(if not as good or better)but I understand that's definitely a minority opinion. Union seems to be the one where a lot of people jumped ship afterwards(some even permanently probably)so that's why I chose that one as one of the cut off points.

Nothing after Drama, although a select few prior don't usually make my rounds anymore.

I admit to being a fanboy; not all Yes albums are created equal, though. Many are classics, and a few are merely okay. The only one I strongly dislike is Heaven and Earth, and that includes Open Your Eyes.

I guess it's other for me. I don't go crazy just because it's Yes. Rather I take what comes right up to FFH and enjoy what I like and don't play what I don't like.

I own all of them and don't plan on getting rid of anything. Yes are one of the few seventies bands that have consistently managed to put out reasonable stuff long after their heyday. I even quite liked Heaven and Earth although Glass Hammer are now much better at doing this sort of stuff.

It appears from the replies so far that YES have managed to hold on to their loyal fans throughout the years much better than Genesis have. Smile

I'm up to Union, despite what Rick Wakeman thinks of it. I actually purchased Talk and The Ladder but surely I'm not a fan of those two albums.

I heard Rick Wakeman calls "Union" the "Onion" album, because it always makes him cry. Tongue

In general, I don't reach for Yes anymore (no urge to, for the last two or three decades)

Post Relayer, I don't really go for anything, though Awaken, and Mind Drive (in the Keys series) are faves of mine and I will say that Tormato's flipside is rather good, some of Drama is ok, and some of Magnification is as well.

My two faves are currently The Yes Album and From Silence To Somewhere

Voted 'Nothing after Going for the One' - I had great expectations after Relayer (my favourite Yes album) but these never materialised as for me, re-hiring Wakeman as a session musician was taking a step backwards in terms of innovation and risk taking. The shorter and catchier tracks on Going for the One seem to indicate that the band had wanted to move towards a more commercial and accessible direction for some time. Nothing wrong with that of course, but the resultant music just didn't float my boat.

I'm picky after 1977's Going for the One (which is still a bit uneven for me LOL).

I don't like half of Tormato.
I enjoy 80s Yes (Drama, 90125, Big Generator).
I like half of Union.
I like Talk (although i haven't listened to it in quite some time, I'm gonna give it a listen soon).
I like half of The Ladder.
Open Your Eyes is their lowest point (IMO).
I enjoy Magnification.
Their last two albums without Jon, are rather "meh". Big smile

I enjoyed the live album Anderson Rabin Wakeman. LOL I think they did it to piss off Steve Howe. If that was their purpose, it's funny. LOL

Other I guess.

I love all their 70's output, apart from Tormato. I like their 80's output, especially 90125, but I'm not keen on Big Generator and Union was patchy. I love the Talk album, but beyond their that I tend to like songs rather than whole albums. I may also be in minority thinking that Fly From Here was an excellent album.

Not quite a minority. I love the Fly from Here album too. Thumbs Up

It's a really melodic album, with a Drama feel to it. You can tell it was largely written back then. As much as I love Drama and like Trevor Horn, I think I prefer Benoit David's voice.

I probably listen to the "classic" period the most (The Yes Album to GFTO) but I listen to pretty much all of them at some point, apart from Open Your Eyes which I've only listened to twice and Heaven and Earth, which I bought but don't play any more.

I don't listen to Open Your Eyes, Heaven & Earth, Big Generator, Union, and their debut hardly at all anymore. The rest gets more listens from me, depending on the mood. I selected "Other" because I'm not sure if I'm a "fanboy" or not.
