I had the misfortune to see Rush on the 'Hold Your Fire' tour - a band I never considered to be prog anyway but I went on the strength of 'Signals' and 'Grace Under Pressure'. Expensive ticket - boring show (sorry Rush fans)

Signals, just ahead of Power Windows.

I dig Signals, GUP and Power Wndows, but between them GUP gets my vote.
Signals has two best songs in Subdivisions and The Analog Kid, but GUP is overall stronger for me. |

Signals absolutely, the last really good Rush album. Hold Your Fire is just boring.

Grace Under Pressure has always appealed to me followed by Signals.
After that the albums got weaker with a few good tracks but inconsistent
albums overall

Easy, my vote follows the release sequence.
Signals > Grace > Power > Hold > Presto

I'm a Rush fan but don't think any of their albums are perfect---I think they are a great stadium rock band because so many of their songs are so filled with catchy hooks---which you can't say about many prog bands--and Grace under Pressure is a great example of that---Signals is pretty good too--voted Grace.

Not my favorite Rush period, but I guess Signals and Grace Under Pressure are the ones I listen to, if only once in a while.

Signals > GUP. The rest I'm not bothered about.

Hmm. I posted this message once and it didn't show up, so if it shows up twice, you'll know why.
Anyway, I'm the odd one out since I have always found that the songs on "Presto" stood out to me more than the other Rush albums of this period. "Signals" would come next in line with "Power Windows" following

For those who put "don't care for this era of Rush" do you not like Rush at all or do you just only like the mid 70's to Moving Pictures years and nothing else. Just wondering.

Even taking all eras into account, Signals and Power Windows are my two favorite Rush albums.

Not just the solo, his demented, effects-laden riff on the verses would give Robert Fripp a run for his money. |

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Power Windows and Signals are both perfect 80's 'electro prog' for me. I struggle to warm to GUP for some reason , maybe the very eighties production kills it but its just not a fun album to listen to. |
