Wonderful album very consistant songs ,i know does not belong in P/A but most fans in P/A are not interested in much else besides brit prog ,so i will keep it short even though BOC is for the most part considered AOR , i agree, but there is an element of prog in this album mainly the lyrical content but a very even rock album the best song on this one is CAREER OF EVIL very good opening track, the two others worth listening are HARVESTER OF EYES and ME 262 classic BOC,i rate it 8 out of 10 thank you for taking the time to read ,very heavy album unique. Amazing album, kinda proggy but for my money, one of the best hard rock albums of the 70s. I nearly equally enjoy the debut with Fire of Unknown Origins not far behind either.

Honestly don't care which genre it fits better, it's a killer album. BÖC have a few albums where all songs are good, and one or two are great, but with Secret Treaties they pulled off a perfect tracklist of all great songs.
Bigger on the inside.

A great melodic hard-rock record, though underrated.

I assumed most here knew BOC was in PA but then you know what happens when one 'assumes'.
A 4 star lp and the only one listed as such in their catalogue. IMHO many of their lp's are underrated.
I'm fond of the debut, Tyranny, Agents, Fire,,,,,and the last one Curse ,which I also believe to be underrated.
But then music fans are a fickle bunch.

One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

I know that "Secret Treaties" is well appreciated record among PA's reviewers, but when I wrote that "Secret Treaties" is an underrated album, I didn't have them in mind. Actually, I was thinking of all those who, when making lists of the best "proggy" hard-rock records from the 70's, almost never mention "Secret Treaties". And I can only add that Blue Öyster Cult are generally an underrated band.

A great album that I have owned for 42 years. Astronomy is a fantastic song that always creeps me out. Harvester of Eyes runs it a close second as best BOC track.
