The tenth and final Symphonic Prog poll, before the album pickings become increasingly slim.

it's actually Emerson, Berry and Palmer
first Palmer could not participate, probably because of Asia, and then Lake did not make it. Poor guys... Edited by Cristi - November 29 2020 at 06:51 |

Sorry, my mistake. I was getting confused with Emerson, Lake & Powell.

It would have caused less confusion if the band had called themselves Emerson, Berry & Palmer instead of simply "3", although that was long before the days of having to search for artists and albums on YouTube.

I jumped off the Renaissance train for this poll and voted for The Enid instead, and this is the final poll, so we'll all be spared the appearance of Renaissance' Time-Line, which comes next in the time-line of Symphonic Prog albums.

Actually, I quite like 3's and Camel's pop-rock albums here, but Drama is way ahead.

I agree, 3 (EBP) is decent, pretty enjoyable for me as well.

I did find the Power of Three album on YouTube, but only by searching for Emerson, Berry & Palmer. I actually prefer ELP's Love Beach album though.

yes and no Some users here have pointed out how terrible the lyrics are on Love Beach, which I did not pay much attention. And when I did made me like the album less. For me the lyrical content is what makes the album weaker now. I bet i could find flaws in EBP's lyrical content, it's been a while since I listened to it. But I bet the album has better lyrics than Love Beach.

^ I never really took much notice of the lyrics on Love Beach, having only heard the album once recently, but I really like the epic Officer and a Gentleman suite on Side 2.

I occasionally listen to it, now I have to ignore the lyrics I still like Love Beach more than the two albums they did in the 90s.

The Black Moon (1992) album is one of my Top 3 favourite ELP albums, and much more listenable to my ears than Trilogy or Brain Salad Surgery, but that's just my opinion, for what it's worth - which isn't much.

that's a unique opinion. I disagree. Obviously. I bet I'm not the only one.
