2003 is yet again a great year for prog, with a significant number of fantastic debuts—such as Kayo Dot, The Mars Volta, Oceansize, OSI, Riverside, The Tangent—along with excellent sophomore albums from Coheed and Cambria, La Maschera di Cera, and Taal. There's also King Crimson's The Power to Believe, a modern release from one of prog's long-beloved bands, which I figure has a high chance of winning the poll simply by virtue of being a King Crimson album. It pains me greatly to not vote for either Choirs of the Eye or De-Loused in the Comatorium, both of which are outstanding records and which are two of my favorite modern prog albums. However, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 is by far my favorite Coheed and Cambria album, and knowing that it will get very few, if any, other votes, I just have to vote for it.
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

KC over ED, Riverside, and Taal.

Many favorites here, what a great year! Contagion, The Power to Believe, De-Loused, The Music that Died Alone... But I will pick the incredible OSI debut album!

When I see these 2000s lists I can only conclude that Modern prog really isn't very convincing music to me. From this one I like Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky, but the dinosaurs really stand out here, so I voted for The Power to Believe.

First vote for Thinking Plague.
Some personal faves from 2003 include Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden’s Structure Et Force, Polytoxicomane Philharmonie’s Psycho Erectus, Syrinx’ Reification, Cheer Accident’s Introducing Lemon and of course Drum Circus’ Magic Theatre (recorded in 1971 though).

What a cracking year for music, some great stuff there. Have to go with Thinking Plague but in any other poll could easily have voted for

Muse, Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, King Crimson, Kayo Dot

Other lesser know albums include:-

Ahleuchatistas - On the Culture Industry
Birdsongs of the Mesozoic - The Iridium Controversy
Förträngt Hushållsarbete  - Offret om att Älska...

Crazy to think I'd vote for The Mars Volta over King Crimson, but that's what I just did.

Exactly my thoughts as well, TMV > KC. De-Loused is a phenomenal album.
