^That is a unique one. I haven't seen it in about 40 years but remember watching on a late night / early morning movie channel when I was on the road.

The original "Deathrace 2000" (1975) with David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone.
"A Boy and His Dog" (1975) is another unique one.

Hmm. I'd have to choose a David Lynch film - Lost Highway. I'd prefer to go for Rabbits, but I don't think that can be classed as a movie.

Ripley's one of my favorites but I wouldn't really call it unique, more in the vein of Hitchcock. The followup Ripley's Game with John Malkovitch is also fairly good though very different from the Matt Damon film. I'll look into Purple Noon . Gummo, on the other hand, is completely unique - Edited by Atavachron - March 05 2021 at 14:00 |

Several good ones come to mind. Time Bandits, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Jacob's Ladder, 12 Monkeys...

First time i saw "Hellraiser" quite late and with horror movies in mind, often tjose that are mentioned in similar breath.
it struck me as unique that the monsters in the movie arrent really the cenobites but the human lust for pain and pleasure, which as a student of Aesthetics stroke a chord of one which have read Edmund Burkes and Kants authership on the theory of the sublime and beautiful. Hellraiser is a experimentation into theories of sublime made vivvid and grotesque yet beautifull and atractive Edited by Icarium - March 12 2021 at 11:03 |

'A Clockwork Orange' maybe, or '2001: A Space Odyssey' or 'Pi' by Aronofsky.

Just saw Mother! this weekend. Very bizarre. One of those "open to interpretation" films.
