The Cinema Show of life, which makes a nice change from voting for Firth of Forth for at least the fourth time.

Can-Utility is probably the best song, compositionally-speaking, that Genesis ever did. It's not overlong yet it packs in everything that was excellent about the band.

A close call, but it should be the Cinema Show.

mmmm, these three are ll very close in my book
I went ahead and tossed Can-Utility a vote since its on my favorite Genesis album and doesn't always get much love (like Time Table) in the shadow of other great songs on that record. That said, the In The Cage/Cinema Show/Slippermen medley from Three Sides Live is absolutely bonkers and in many ways tops either of the original studio tracks mentioned in the poll here.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Cinema Show has Tony Banks' finest hour IMHO, absolutely next level playing and it's always, always in my head.

Impossible to choose.
In the Cage, sort of an 'acquired taste' for me over the years.. hard to listen: dramatic, full of anguish.. love the synths and the guitar-led (edit: or bass-led; had to put the CD ) climax. Can Utility, love it so much, just listened to it. (edit: sorry, I was referring to Get 'em Out By Friday.. always confuse the two of those.. maybe that name doesn't do enough justice for it to me. I remember, before I preferred Can-Utility, but for many years now, liking both, is the other way around. That would facilitate the poll for me.. maybe I could vote for 'Cinema' after all, with 'In the Cage' a close second). ...and Cinema, well... the jazz-fusion side of things. It's Cinema Show/Aisle of Plenty - can't separate the two, IMO. It's a wonderful ending to a true Genesis classic.....CS/AoP might be the 10 minutes you'd chunk off the catalogue as the distilled essence of the band.

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
