Tull. The lyrics alone are worth the ride. Yes's new age pseudo-eastern mewling gets old after awhile.
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Tull. I remember buying the album in 1975, for $3.99. One of my favorite Tull albums.

I'll go with BSM. I find it richer in melodic contents and unexpected turns.
Awaken is amazing too, so I love them both anyway.

Awaken, My favorite Yes epic. I saw Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman Live with my dad A few years ago and they played this song. Its was in A hall, And in the strange part with the harp at the middle of the song Rick Wakeman played notes so low on the keyboard that the ceiling was shaking. It was scary and cool at the same time.

By the way it was an amazing show.

That's probably why Baker Street Muse and Awaken completely passed me by at the time. I was having too much fun listening to Donna Summer and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Smile

Easy one for me

Muse is fine. But Awaken is sublime.

Awaken.

Beautiful is not a strong enough word to describe it imo.

Levitating downwards,
atomic feedback scream.

I enjoy both a lot, but I have to go with Tul on this one. A really overlooked epic.

Easy one for Awaken, one of my favourite Yes songs (it's difficult to choose one, but often enough it might end as my very favourite). The Tull one isn't nearly as close to being among my favourite Tull songs.

Tulls my fave band but 1975 is my least fave year of the 70s. I’ll give Baker a solid 3.5 stars and Awaken 3. Both long tracks but not great
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I have some sympathy for this. Lyrically Yes could be pretty out there and up themselves. I gave up paying much attention to their lyrics many years ago.

Musically however, I prefer the majesty of Awaken to this track by JT. I'm not a big JT fan, although controversially I much prefer Minstral in the Gallery to Aqualung!
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Me too, in fact I would say Minstrel is probably my favourite Tull album.
