I was going to give this box set a miss, despite enjoying the previous three from the classic folk trilogy period - but the lure of the Slipstream live material was too strong.

Live tracks checked out. They really pay off IMO (if you enjoy this particular JT line-up, of course).
See the review by Warthur for a closer appreciation:

^ All Warthur's reviews of these Deluxe JT boxes in my opinion miss 2 very important points:

1. The quality of multichannel remixes, which are excellent (for example, in case of "War Child" lots of sounds, lost in stereo mix, are clearly audible and give music additional dimension and quality).
2. Informative books, accompanying releases. Actually each of them describes in details the corresponding part of the band's history.

"Useless" if you don't have a 5.1 surround sound system..."freaking amazing" if you do.

It's the main reason I buy these editions. You hear things on the 5.1 that you did  not pick up in stereo and adds a new, refreshing take on all of Tull's albums. Worth every cent and Wilson has done a brilliant job on all of these editions.
